My maternal grandmother was born in Dublin on 6 May into a family of 14 children, she was one of only six siblings in the family that lived beyond age 5 and the only girl. Another two of her brothers were killed in WW1, and she was lucky to survive all the carnage of being bombed out of her house during the WW2 blitz of the Docklands in East London, as was her daughter - my mum!

I will never forget this trip

I'll never forget that magic tour to Glendalugh and the beautiful town of Rathdrum, it's like another world, the mysterious Annwn, even when I typing, I can't contain tears of rapture!)

I will be traveling with my good friend Mark and his wife. To see Ireland and to just have fun!

INITIALLY STAYED ON A CAMPSITE. HOWEVER,BECAUSE OF THE TERRIBLE WEATHER CONDITIONS-TORRENTIAL RAIN AND GALE FORCE WINDS-I EVENTUALLY MIGRATED TO STAYING IN HOTELS-"GREAT WESTERN" ARE TO BE RECOMMENDED.

Шанкилл - так называется местечко в котором мы живём. Этакая тихая гавань для среднего класса. Всё в зелени и в цвету. Цветёт всё что можно, цветёт незнакомым мне цветом и среди всего этого буйства растительности натыканы котеджиков отдельные мирки. Здесь слышно только пение птиц по утрам. О! Как же приятно утро в этом дворике отгороженном от всего мира стеной из пеноблоков (ого! я знаю как эта хрень называется!). Трава! Какая радость! Она имеет свой естественный цвет и размер! Сложенная в центре двора каменная жаровня вызывает слезу умиления. Стоооолик.. Стеклянный! Плетёное кресло... Пью чай с чипсами вприкуску. Гуденье насекомых (хмммм). Беременная кошка Вита деловито копается в цветах. Нееегааааа... Грех не скурить сигаретку, отщипнуть виноградинку. Здесь вот и доживают свой век разного рода рабочие и служащие. Чтож, и в самом деле! Хорошее же место, для того, чтобы тихо загнутся от трудов своих скорбных! Ато вот большие города как-то мне совсем «не алё». От Дублина устаю например за час-полтора. Смотреть по сторонам становится лень. Хочется укрытся от жестокой реальности загнивающего запада! А где? Ну конечно в пабе! Латвийское пиво, пара россиян за соседним столиком и хоккей по телевизору без звука. К нашему столу подсаживается Растаман. Он прямо с работы, голодный и выглядит каким-то растерзанным. «Хочу МореПродуктов!». Ему приносят креветок под каким-то затейливым соусом. Они вульгарно развалились на листьях салата. Растаман недоволен (Холодные!), но всё таки ест. Попробовал и я (интересно же!). Поразительно! Очень напоминает наше сало! А хоккей, кстати, досмотреть нам так и не дали. Охранник выгнал за то, что Виталик (он же Спридитис, он же Сиплый) трубил в свою болельщическую трубу, как раненый слон. Страшно матерясь и негодуя вся честная компания вывалилась наружу, купила пива в ближайшем магазине и повлеклась на канал, который чем-то неуловимо напоминает рижский автовокзал. Экзотика... ЗЫ: А Гиннес у них здесь всегда свежий, что не может не радовать!

Temple bar is the place everyone has to visit while in Dublin. It consists of an area of cobbled streets, lined with pubs and restaurants, along with interesting galleries, small museums and some other modern shops(even a Brazilian one!) But Temple Bar for sure wasn't anything for me. It was way too crowded, way too warm, way too expensive and way too strange people in there. :)

Stayed for a week, went to Blarney Castle kissed the stone, and went to Kerry and Kinsail! I hung out at the LV in Cork mainly and miss my friends Milo and Kai!

Well I had to do the Guinness pilgramage before I died didn't I?

I decided to follow my friend to Dublin just after graduated. I wanted to see other places and do something different after those long years spent with studying.

... fantastic place, fantastic people...simply fantastic, I totally fell in love with Ireland... I miss it a lot!

U2 concert at Slane castle. Came here with few friends. This was the Elevation tour. Great weekend. So very good concert.

One of my top two countries that I have visited. I am part Irish so it was great to see my heritage. Friendly people, beautiful land, and interesting driving.

16 weeks in this beautiful City with it's beautiful people

Travelled with my best friend, a car and a tent.

It was a beautiful 3 weeks stay, I visited my family there, visited the castles, pubs and more pubs, I went to Dublin and Dunboyne very nice I visited the beautiful farms and flowers and spent beautiful time with my family, the only thing I didn't like was the weather, rains to much plus is cold in summer uuggg!! after Ireland that year I went to Barcelona and spent time with a beautiful family friends of my family and they took me to see U2 rock band and was great, but I didn't tell them I was not crazy for that kind of music, but I still had a great time, I went to see "la sagrada familia" and i went to visit where the olympic games were, very nice!!
