It's a very beautiful city with a lot place.

I stayed two wonderful weeks, visiting some friends, in Sao Paulo, Santos and Bragança Paulista. What an amazing country, i will love to come back... I visit markets, try differents typical dishes, went to watch soccer, beach, mountain... I really recommend it.

Rio de Janeiro is simply one of the most beautiful cities in this planet, with so many wonderful sights to see, gorgeously astounding landscapes and seascapes, a delicious climate, much joy, music, something like magic and enchantment, though no one can deny at all that the city has several big problems, being a 6 million inhabitants metropolis in a country in process of development, like Brazil. But, no matter the problems the city and the country face, Rio de Janeiro remain something like a DIAMOND, a precious jewel to be seen. Most tourists fall in love with the city and the friendly way of its people, who receive very well foreigners from anywhere in the world with much pleasure, sincere good-will, respect, tolerance, positive curiousity and much joy. The city is a party, though of course, it has many sad sides too. One who visits the city usually gets greatly impressed with so much beauty, not only the nature's, but also the harmony created by the mountain, sea and the architecture of the many modern, beautiful and sophisticated buildings along Rio de Janeiro's sea border. Of course, some of the buildings are not that modern, but this confers another kind of charm to the city, as we can find much of its history by the several kinds of skylines and esthetic standards found here. Neither the city nor the country are a paradise at all, but, I am sure that they are much vocationed to be like that one day, when there will be hopefully more social justice, equity, income distribution and human beings at last, learn to live in peace and harmony. The city is TOO MUCH WORTH VISITING! Good luck and good trip!!

was made redundant in july so i thought i spend sometime back in brazil before i found a new job!! 6 weeks spend traveling based myself in rio & visited paraty, buzios,ponta negra , natal ,joa pessoa, pipa & fernando de noronha just amazing had a great time , if you love quiet & secluded beaches then noronha is one of the most special places on this earth.

amazing city , i fell in love amazing landscapes people & beaches. stayed in ipanema everest hotel & spend a few days on ilha de grande in sankay hotel highly recomend a visit only 2 hours away on bus from rio, beautiful secluded island to get away from it all.

Just stay a few days in Rio and then 2wk in Paraty, a beautiful little Town.

Well well, here is my 1st favorite Country. Why? simple: Axé Music, Portuguese language, Lot's of good looking girl's, lot's of fun, lot's of CAIPIRINHA'S and a other lot of good things too. It's funy, i was there 2 times, 1 in Carnival, i remember i spent 400€ for just one night in "EXPRESSO 222" which was a special place belongs to the Gilberto Gil singer and Culture goverment and i saw there many VIP'S people from the tv. I remember i was so drunk like my partner, and we was interviued by GLOBO INTERNATIONAL TV. It was wonderfull moments since i was born. A must VISIT! by the way, if you visit Salvador ( pelourinho ) you just have to visit Lisbon ( Bairro Alto ) to see the diferences...

Well, like i said about Salvador but in a small village where everyone knows everybody! History fact: Portuguese 1st stop in by Pedro Alvares Cabral. Must visit Trancoso and Arraial da Ajuda!

The ship i was on made many 4 day stops in Brazil, and we got to visit Recife, Rio De Janeiro, Fortaleza, Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Vitoria and many other port cities. I always would be the first to hop off and go sightseeing (Even though we were warned not to because of kidnappers and roving bands of thieves). I myself never had any problems....but there were others on the ship that were not so fortunate. Overall.....i'd go back and really get a good look around the entire country, not just the port area and surrounding cities. I feel theres a lot of charm there, once you remove yourself from the ports. (The ports have always been a magnet for the thieves and those of "ill-repute"...same thing the world over...)
